4th Project - Panti YPMS

Located at Perumahan Papan Mas Blok B12 No.31 Pengairan, Tambun, Bekasi.

This orphanage houses some 60 young girls.

The dormitory roof in the main building needed major repairs. But as there were insufficient funds, we turned the classrooms into bedrooms.

Unfortunately, in early November 2012 the orphanage caught fire and was destroyed. With the assistance from Star Deli, including funds received from Star Deli's Golf Tournament, we received IDR 10million in cash and building materials to renovate the dormitory. The young professionals of the American of Commerce also donated shoes and toys (see the article in the Jakarta Globe Newspaper)

3rd Project - Nias Tsunami Children

Located in Perumahan Mutiara Gading Timur Blok G5 No.2 RT08 RW03 Mustika Jaya, Bekasi Timur.

An NGO brought children who lost their entire families and became homeless by the 2005 Nias Tsunami to Jakarta. They received assistance from the church, but funds were needed to give them a place to stay, meet their basic living needs and place them in local schools.

Through friends and acquaintances we managed to collect funds and find foster parents for some of the children.

For special occasions we take them out for meals or other events sponsored by organizations. We provide them with donated items to meet their daily needs as well as Christmast gifts, etc.

We took the childrens to buy uniforms and books prior to their first day at school in Bekasi.

2nd Project - Rumah Singgah Mutiara Mandiri

Located in Jatimulya, RT003 RW001 in Tambun, Bekasi.

Before the renovation of the shelter, the roof was leaking, the room was dirty and the floor had no carpets. Renovated to house street children who earn their income singing and playing the guitar at traffic lights and street junctions in the area. These children now have a shelter to sleep in the evening. The renovation substantially improved the condition of the shelter. 

During the day we turn the shelter into class rooms so the children can study there. The tutors are volunteers.

1st Project - Panti Amal Mulia

Panti ini letaknya di Cipulir - Jakarta Selatan. Ada beberapa anak asuh kami disini, yang biaya sekolah tiap anaknya kami pikul bersama-sama, jadi tidak terlalu berat kan,, alhamdulillah.

Kami juga menyempatkan rutin makan bersama-sama, tidak selalu tiap bulan sih, pihak panti hanya menyediakan nasinya saja, kami membawa sayur, lauk, buah dan beberapa camilan untuk dinikmati bersama.

Berbagi bingkisan Idul Fitri

Disaat bulan ramadhan - menjelang hari raya Idul Fitri, kami juga menyempatkan berbuka puasa bersama dan ditutup dengan berbagi bingkisan untuk seluruh penghuni panti.

Penghuni panti terdiri dari anak balita, usia TK, SD, SMP, SMA dan Lansia

How we obtain funds

We collect second-hand clothing and other items form families, friends and organizations. Once a month we sell these items at a street-side market in Bekasi.
The funds we raise are dedicated to our benevolent activities. Since most of our buyers are themselves coming from low-income families, our selling activities also help them by allowing them to buy their necessities at low-cost.

Background

The HelpUsToHelp team was established in December 2010. We improve the lives of people who are less fortunate by providing them with shelter, education and support. We also raise public awarness of groups of people who are living way below the normal standard.
